In recent years Dr Palferman has presented results of original research to international and national meetings, including the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, European Calcified Tissues Society, European League Against Rheumatism, National Osteoporosis Society.

Current research is in Osteoporosis, Anorexia and allied eating disorders, Paget’s Disease, early arthritis, the genetic basis for high bone mass and new treatments for osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis.

He has been the invited speaker, or represented British Rheumatology, at meetings in Europe, U.S.A., the Middle East and Japan.
